It takes time to do the things you want to do well.
It takes time to grow the ideas you have into something beautiful.
It takes time to make the things you want to make if you want them to be worth the time it took to make them.
It takes time to make the connections that come from the time it takes to think.
And in the end, the time you take is equal to the quality of the things you make.
I'm cheating here because the comments are closed on the post I would like to comment on, from June 03, 2010 - Difficult Lessons.
I've been teaching for 14 years and each end of year is difficult for me - from not being able to sleep to just being bone tired. As is just before the Christmas break.
(hmmm, writing it out like this I ask,is this solstice related rather than work related?)
Is it a question of learning how to say no or just accepting that being tired is ok because the work we do is difficult?
Taking care of my tired self is something at which I wasn't very successful this year. Your 3rd bullet point - about nurturing that reCREATIVE space - is something I need to spend more time on. It's a lesson I learn each year. I know it logically. Putting it into practice is another story.
Thanks for letting me hear the lesson again.

A good reminder that's even more important in the hurry up world we live in. Thanks.
